138 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total number of personnel working in his office and the office of the Minister(s) of State at his Department; the number of support staff and back-up personnel in each office; their titles and responsibilities; their salaries and other associated costs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Mr. Yates)

The information requested is as follows:

Office of the Minister

The total number of personnel working in my office is 15 including one programme manager. Their annual salary cost is £264,528. Eleven of my staff including my private secretary are civil servants. The annual cost of their salaries per annum is £149,513. They would be responsible for the overall operation of my office. I also have two garda drivers.

The following table gives details of the non-permanent staff working in my office:

Office of the Minister of State

The number of personnel working in the Minister of State's office is 12. Their annual salary cost is £228,176. Nine of the staff are civil servants and are responsible for the overall operations of the Minister of State's office. The annual cost of their salaries is £138,857.
