79 Mr. Molloy asked the Taoiseach the reason the report of the Interdepartmental co-ordinating committee on Island Development was not completed by the end of October 1995, as stated in reply to Parliamentary Question 1 of 3 October 1995. [1185/96]
Finalising the report of the Interdepartmental Co-ordinating Committee on Island Development has taken more time than was originally envisaged. The report addresses the long-term strategic issues affecting island communities and I am confident that it will form the basis of providing an integrated strategic approach to island development. The report has been submitted to Government and will be published in the coming weeks.
