Ceist:169 Mr. O'Dea asked the Minister for Education the progress, if any, that has been made on the construction of teacher centres which were undertaken as a result of the Career Development Programme for teachers. [1742/96]
Written Answers. - Teacher Centres.
At present the education centre at Blackrock, County Dublin is under construction. A site for the proposed new education centre in Carrickon-Shannon, County Leitrim has recently been purchased.
Negotiations for the purchase of a site for the new centre in Portlaoise, County Laois are currently on-going. Decisions on progress towards the provision of further centres will be taken in the context of the 1996 post-primary capital programme.
