Written Answers - Ground Rent Abolition.
The Government Policy Agreement contains a commitment to introduce legislation to abolish ground rents as a specific lien on residential property and convert them into normal commercial debt. I am examining at present the complex constitutional and legal issues which must be addressed to give effect to that commitment. When this examination is completed I will put the matter before Government.
