Vol. 460 No. 7

Written Answers - Government's THORP-Sellafield Policy.

Trevor Sargent

Ceist:

109 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the steps, if any, the Government has taken toward the publication of a Green Paper setting out the grounds for a court case against the United Kingdom in the matter of Sellafield and Sellafield THORP. [2123/96]

The Government's policy in relation to Sellafield and THORP is set out in its Policy Agreement A Government of Renewal. The policy agreement outlines a series of commitments which the Government is currently pursuing. A task force of Ministers is continuing to co-ordinate a concerted strategy for progressing the commitments on Sellafield and related concerns as set out in the policy document.
