Ceist:

104 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Education if she will protect schools from the intrusion by the Irish Musical Rights Organisation into the school curriculum; and if she will have arrangements made that demands on schools for payment for music or songs used during the school day will cease. My Department is involved in ongoing exploratory discussions with the Irish Musical Rights Organisation and school management authorities in relation to this matter.

The Deputy will appreciate that any resolution of this matter must take account of existing legislation or any review of such legislation.
