Vol. 461 No. 4

Written Answers. - Holidays Packages.

Helen Keogh

Ceist:

209 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if the health formality requirements in the recent Package Holidays and Travel Trade Act, 1995, covers all travellers, namely business, back packers and religious travellers, who arrange travel independently and not as part of a package tour. [2907/96]

The provisions of the Package Holidays and Travel Trade Act, 1995, including the provision to which the Deputy refers, apply only to holiday packages, that is, where two or more components — transport accommodation and other tourist services — of the holiday are pre-arranged by the organiser. They do not apply in circumstances where persons make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
