Vol. 461 No. 8

Written Answers. - Cork Helicopter Service.

Kathleen Lynch

Ceist:

146 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications whether a company (details supplied) in County Cork which has been awarded a contract to operate helicopter services in Cork does not currently have the documentation required to operate in this jurisdiction; his views on whether the company will be able to fulfil the requirements to obtain such documentation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4013/96]

The company in question proposes that the relevant air services would be operated by its Irish-based subsidiary. That subsidiary, therefore, requires an air transport operating licence from my Department.

An application for such a licence was received on 23 January and is currently under consideration. It is not my practice to comment on individual licence applications.
