34 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the groups which have signed contracts for participation in Leader II; the groups which have still to sign; and the moneys paid out to new and old individual groups from Leader II funding. [4701/96]
Agreements have been signed with 33 of the approved groups, including the two sectoral groups and the four groups approved for funding in the predevelopment category — one of which has now advanced to full Leader II status. Agreements remain to be signed with three of the approved groups: Comhar Iorrais Teo, Belmullet, County Mayo; Inishowen Community Development Group Ltd., Carndonagh, County Donegal and Meath Community Partnership County Ltd., Navan, County Meath.
I would hope that these groups will be in a position to sign agreements at a reasonably early date.
I have set out in tabular form and will circulate the details in relation to the agreements signed and the funds paid to date to Leader II approved groups.
Payments totalling £2.9 million have been made to 26 of the groups with whom agreements have been signed. The first payments will issue to the other seven groups once they have submitted the insurance guarantee which is required.
