191 Mr. M. McDowell asked the Minister for Justice the number of indictable offences in respect of murder, manslaughter, other offences against the person, common assaults, robbery, rape, sexual assault, burglaries, aggravated burglaries, larcenies, interference with mechanical vehicles and unauthorised taking of mechanical vehicles which occurred in the calendar year 1994, in the districts covered by Rathmines, Donnybrook, Irishtown, Harcourt Terrace, Pearse Street and Kevin Street Garda Stations Dublin; if such offences were included in the figures supplied in connection with the Garda Síochána Report for 1994; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Garda Síochána Annual Report for 1994 sets out the total, countrywide, number of indictable offences recorded or known by the Garda for the year.

Some of the information requested by the Deputy was previously requested in Parliamentary Question No. 380 of 23 January 1996. As I informed the Deputy at that time, most of the information requested was not readily available. The information is being compiled and I will write to the Deputy as soon as it is available. As regards the additional information sought by the Deputy. I am informed by the Garda authorities that it is not readily available. The information requested is being compiled and I will convey it to the Deputy as soon as it is to hand.
