44 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the response, if any, he has received from Bord Gáis Éireann to his request to review the disposal of its Little Island property, County Cork, and the continuation of the architectural contract for the construction of a new headquarters at Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. On 4 January 1996 Bord Gáis Éireann informed my Department that its board, at its meeting on 28 November 1995, having given due consideration to the situation, decided not to process the sale of its headquarters offices in Inchera, Little Island, County Cork at that time or to undertake any further work on the Albert Road development beyond the existing stages by way of decontamination or building works at that time. I am informed that those stages have since been completed.
