48 Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the total of European Regional Development Fund aid and State aid paid to each regional airport; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4977/96]

The level of European Regional Development Fund aid and State aid to each of the regional airports is set out in the following table:

The Exchequer aid represents capital grants for these airports up to the end of 1990 and grants in 1993 and 1995 for promotion and marketing of the airports. The European Regional Development Fund aid under the 1989-1993 Structural Funds round was in respect of infrastructural works at these airports.
