50 Miss Flaherty asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications when he will allocate Structural Funds to CIE; and if these funds will include a provision for the reopening of the Drumcondra railway station, Dublin 9. [4885/96]
Late in 1995 CIE submitted proposals to my Department for the upgrading of Dublin commuter rail services for possible EU financial assistance under the operational programme for transport, 1994-99. They included proposals in respect of Drumcondra station.
Following detailed consideration of CIE's proposals by my Department, I recently approved the allocation of funding under the operational programme for transport for a new station at Fairview and I hope to make a further announcement soon.
