[5005/96]

In 1995, £500,000 was allocated towards the respite care scheme and the number of organisations that received funding in each of the health boards regions is as follows:

28

Midland Health Board

6

Mid-Western Health Board

5

North-Eastern Health Board

7

North-Western Health Board

6

South-Eastern Health Board

14

In 1996 £500,000 has been allocated to the health boards for the respite care scheme and interested organisations are eligible to apply for funding from their local health board. Responsibility for the administration of the respite care grant scheme has been transferred to the health boards. Apart from general supplies, the health boards incurred no additional administration costs, following the transfer of the administration of the respite care scheme.
