Vol. 462 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dunshaughlin (Meath) Proposed Polyclinic.

Mary Wallace

Ceist:

60 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health the current position regarding the proposed polyclinic for Dunshaughlin, County Meath; when it is expected that work will commence on this project; the amount of money allocated to this project for 1996; the completion date for this project; the facilities which will be provided within this polyclinic; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5181/96]

Limerick-East): My Department has recently given approval to the NorthEastern Health Board to proceed to stages 4 and 5 of the planning process for the Dunshaughlin health care unit.

It is expected that the planning process will be completed in time to enable the building work to commence by September 1996 and the estimated date of completion is December 1997.

The funding requirement for 1996 will depend on the rate of progress that can be achieved on the building work and I am not in a position at this stage to give a precise figure.
The services that will be provided in this unit are: consultant out-patient services; therapy unit; psychiatric services; hospital-day care for the elderly; medical, dental and diagnostic services; child and family support services; public health nursing services; general practitioner services.
