131 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment whether the media reports regarding difficulties for EU funding for the Balbriggan by-pass, County Dublin, are correct; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5444/96]
I understand that a complaint has been lodged with the EU Commission regarding the manner in which tenders for this project were assessed by Fingal County Council and the National Roads Authority. The matter is the subject of ongoing discussions and correspondence between those authorities and the Commission.
