Written Answers. - Provision of Devices to Asthma Patients.
Limerick East): Spacer devices are available to medical card holders on the general medical services scheme. The position in relation to the availability of peak flow metres varies from health board to health board. In a number of health boards, these devices are provided to medical card holders on foot of a recommendation from a medical practitioner. I am currently having the overall position regarding the provision of peak flow metres to medical card patients reviewed in the Department and I will communicate with the Deputy when this review is completed.
