Ceist:

70 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction the appointment of a remedial teacher on a shared basis for the national schools located at Lisboduff, Kill, St. Mary's Drung and Drung Number 2, County Cavan; if her attention has been drawn to the anxiety of the Boards of Management and Parents' Associations that such an appointment should be made without further delay in view of the urgent need to provide this teaching service; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I am aware of the case made by the schools in question for the appointment of a remedial teacher.

I am not in a position at present to make a remedial teacher post available to these schools.

When I am in a position to extend the remediation service, the schools in question will be given every consideration.
