125 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Health the members of the Monitoring Committee for the Operational Programme for the Tallaght Hospital, Dublin 24 under the Structural Funds; and the organisations or bodies they represent. [6316/96]
Limerick East): The approval of the EU Commission for Structural Funding for the Tallaght Hospital was given on the basis that proper management and financial controls for the projects were in place. The Commission did not request the setting up of a Monitoring Committee.
The Tallaght Hospital Board, appointed by the Minister for Health, has as its main task the planning, building and commissioning of the new Tallaght Hospital. A project director and project management staff have been employed by the board to ensure proper management and control of all aspects of the project. Arrangements are also in place for the ongoing evaluation of the project by my Department's hospital planning office.
