177 Mr. Mulvihill asked the Minister for the Environment when approval will be given for the necessary finance to refurbish and bookstock a library (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6034/96]

Proposals for a new branch library in Midleton have been received in my Department. Having regard to the high level of demand for funding for library proposals generally, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve the proposals.
