Written Answers. - Consultancy Costs.
Expenditure by my Department on consultancies is generally accounted for under the "Consultancy Services" subhead in my Department's Vote; details of this expenditure in respect of the period 1987 to 1996 are set out in the table which follows.
From time to time, consultancy payments are made from other subheads where the work involved is an integral part of the programme funded by these particular subheads. Recent examples would include: New Computerised National Vehicle File (expenditure 1993-95 of £730,000); Dublin Transportation Initiative (expenditure 1993-94 of £650,000); Dublin Region Water Supply Strategic Study (expenditure 1995-96 of £375,000).
