Written Answers. - Ballyshannon (Donegal) Community School.

Dinny McGinley

Ceist:

219 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding the proposal to build a new community school in Ballyshannon, County Donegal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6658/96]

Mary Coughlan

Ceist:

252 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Education the amount of money that has been provided by her Department for the purchase of a site for the provision of a community school in Ballyshannon, County Donegal. [6236/96]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 219 and 252 together.

A suitable site has been acquired for the proposed new community school at Ballyshannon at a total cost to the Department of £150,000.

Architectural planning of the new school is currently at stage three, that is, developed sketch scheme.

My Department's building unit is currently awaiting revised documents from the consultant architect in this regard.
