226 Mr. E. Ryan asked the Minister for Education the buildings owned or used by her Department that pre-date 1843; the extent and terms under which any of these buildings are open to the public; the plans, if any, she has to open any of these buildings to the public; the listed interiors in these buildings; the notable interiors in these buildings other than those that may be officially listed; the current use of these interiors; and if she will make a statement on the matter. There are a number of buildings in my Department's Marlborough Street site that pre-date 1843. They are as follows: Tyrone House, training college building, 28 Marlborough Street, Talbot House, Colonnade building, EDP building, clock tower buildings listed above are open to the public as they are used for office accommodation for my Department's staff. Of these buildings, Tyrone House has a number of interiors which are listed for preservation. These are as follows:

Entrance Hall: Dado, chair rail, doric entablature, ionic aedicule, doors, door cases, window cases, plasterwork.

Staircase/Hall/Landing: Timber staircase, doors, door cases, windows, window cases, plasterwork including decoration of walls, ceiling and under the landing.

First Floor/Front Room Left: Panelled dado and chair rail, rococo marble chimney piece, decorative ceiling, plasterwork.
First Floor/Front Room Centre: Decorative plaster ceiling.
First Floor/Saloon: Wall panels, rococo marble chimney piece, decorative plaster ceiling.
First Floor/Rere Room: Doors, door cases, chimney piece, decorative plaster ceiling.
In addition to the listed interiors there are a number of other notable interiors including a vaulted ceiling and a Bossi fireplace.
While the above buildings are not open to the public my Department facilitates as far as possible students, etc. who wish to see and photograph some of the interiors.
