Vol. 463 No. 3

Written Answers. - Stillorgan (Dublin) School for the Deaf.

Brendan McGahon

Ceist:

241 Mr. McGahon asked the Minister for Education if the Mary Immaculate School for the Deaf at Beechpark, Stillorgan. County Dublin, is closing in 1997; and where the multi-handicapped deaf children who are taught there will be placed to continue their education. [6186/96]

The future of the school in question is being reviewed and discussions are continuing on this issue between the school authorities and my Department.

I wish to assure the Deputy that appropriate education facilities for all the remaining pupils, including those with multiple handicaps, is being examined by my Department and is foremost in the ongoing discussions.
