Vol. 463 No. 3

Written Answers. - Navan (Meath) New School.

Noel Dempsey

Ceist:

255 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Education if she intends to expedite the approval for a new school for Scoil Eanna, Navan, County Meath in view of the fact that the school authorities have been informed that the vocational education committee will not be in a position to allow Scoil Eanna to retain their current accommodation after 1 July 1996; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6270/96]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Dáil Question No. 62 answered on 24 January 1996, in which I indicated that a member of my Department's professional staff had carried out a site inspection with a view to identifying a suitable location for Scoil Eanna. Additional information regarding a proposed site is awaited from the management of the school.

I expect that a report in the matter will be completed very shortly and a decision on the provision of accommodation for the school's needs will be taken without undue delay.
