393 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will have arrangements made to have payment of a higher rate of compensation under the brucellosis eradication scheme made to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [6388/96]
Under the reactor grant arrangements the higher rate of grant, category C1 + applies to herds where eligible animals have not been acquired since the last herd test or if eligible animals have been acquired, such animals have been 60 day pre and 60 day post-movement tested for brucellosis prior to the disclosure of any reactor in the herd. The person in question purchased-in animals which were pre-movement tested for TB and brucellosis but were not post-movement tested for brucellosis before the herd broke down with the disease. In the circumstances the appropriate rate in this case is C1.
