432 Miss Harney asked the Minister for the Marine when a decision will be made in relation to the designation of Trawbreaga Bay, Malin, County Donegal and the issuing of licences to the oyster growers of the Inishbowen Shellfish Producers Group. [6317/96]
444 Mr. M. Smith asked the Minister for the Marine if he will issue licences to the growers at Trawbreaga Bay, Carndonagh, County Donegal, to enable them to apply for grant aid currently available to other shell producers (details supplied) in County Donegal. [6563/96]
I propose taking Questions Nos. 432 and 444 together.
Licensing and investment support for shellfish growers in Trawbreaga Bay has been held up by a longstanding though to date unproven claim lodged, on behalf of certain individuals, to ownership of fishery rights in the bay.
The Department has been pressing the claimants for some considerable time to substantiate these entitlements and is currently working to overcome the impasse, in consultation with the Attorney General's Office, without further undue delay.
