Vol. 463 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Deduction.

Ned O'Keeffe

Ceist:

66 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance the reason tax being deducted from a person (details supplied) in County Cork has not been reduced as promised by the Office of the Revenue Commissioners. [5986/96]

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer has an underpayment of £1,304.99. In the particular circumstances it has already been agreed with the Revenue Commissioners to collect this underpayment by reducing the taxpayer's tax-free allowances each year, for the next ten years. A revised tax-free allowance certificate for the income tax year 1996-97 will issue shortly.
