Vol. 463 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tramore (Waterford) Sewerage Scheme.

Austin Deasy

Ceist:

37 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Environment if he will have arrangements made to meet with local interest groups at the alternative sites of the proposed marine outfall involving Tramore sewerage scheme, County Waterford which is costing approximately £6.7 million, to assess which is the more suitable location, in view of the major concern of local residents and the possible pollution to Saleen Beach. [6347/96]

I am aware of the statutory access afforded to, and availed of, by interested parties in the context of the environmental impact assessment for this scheme determined by my predecessor as Minister for the Environment in December 1992. However, if local interest groups wish to forward submissions on the matter, or to meet officials of my Department, I will be happy to facilitate them.
