Ceist:

70 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Education the level of remuneration of the non-executive directors of boards, companies or agencies under the aegis of her Department; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6512/96]

The Higher Education Authority is the only body under the aegis of my Department where non-executive members receive a fee. This fee is subject to sanction by the Department of Finance and currently stands at £2,500 per annum.
