Ceist:84 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for the Environment the plans if any he has to initiate planning guidelines for floodlighting columns that are contained in planning applications for synthetic sports pitches, where the proposed development is in close proximity to residential dwellings in view of the fact that planning permissions are being granted for such developments by local authorities in spite of the negative impact on residential amenity by the introduction of artificial lights, glare and noise pollution caused by sports activity by the almost permanent use of the sports facility, particularly when used commercially; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
