Ahern asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the plans, if any, he has to make representations to An Post in order to commemorate in 1999 the 350th Anniversary of the Cromwellian campaign in view of the suggestion that has been made by the Old Drogheda Society, County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A request for a set of three stamps to commemorate the 350th Anniversary of the Cromwellian campaign has been recently received by An Post from the Old Drogheda Society. The request will be considered with all other suggestions for the 1999 Special and Commemorative Stamp Programme in approximately 12 months' time when the subjects for the 1999 stamp programme will be selected by the independent Philatelic Advisory Committee.
