148 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the conclusions, if any, reached by the ESB and Northern Ireland Electricity Board joint feasibility studies on the totality of electricity interconnection between the two networks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Joint ESB-NIE feasibility studies on co-ordinated transmission development between the two networks are not yet completed. The studies are looking at the technical apsects of extending interconnection with Northern Ireland and the benefits associated therewith. The results of the studies are expected towards the end of the year.
