Vol. 464 No. 5

Written Answers. - Right of Way Access.

Trevor Sargent

Ceist:

70 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the current position regarding the re-opening of the right of way and public access to Dunsoghly Castle, St. Margaret's, County Dublin, which, prior to the filming of "Braveheart", was an important tourist attraction in the area; and if the matter can be resolved prior to the peak tourist season commencing. [8418/96]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to his previous Question No. 144 of 2 Aibreán 1996.

The National Monuments and Historic Properties Service is having ongoing discussions with the owner with a view to resolving the matter raised by the Deputy but a successful outcome has not yet been reached.
