Written Answers. - Canal Walkway.
The canal walkway east of Parnell Bridge (Sally's Bridge) is adjacent to, but below, the public footpath and is unsurfaced for a distance of some 200 metres. Pedestrians have the choice to walk on either the footpath or the walkway. In keeping with their conservation policy, the Waterways Service would wish to retain the unsurfaced walkway as long as it is both safe and passable by the public but the matter will, however, be kept under review.
