52 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Justice the procedures in place within her Department to investigate and review the handling of any particular Garda investigation where it is deemed appropriate; the reviews, if any, that are ongoing; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9792/96]

Criminal investigations are operational matters and, as such, are the responsibility of the Garda Commissioner. Accordingly, the review of the handling of any particular investigation is a matter for the commissioner.
