77 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he will give details of the new agreement entered into with the Marathon Group for the purchase of gas in 1995; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10006/96]
I assume that the Deputy is referring to an agreement entered into between Bord Gáis Éireann and Marathon Petroleum Ireland Ltd., on 15 June 1995, governing the sale and purchase of gas from the Kinsale Head/Ballycotton field for the period following 1996. I have no function in this matter as Bord Gáis Éireann did not require my approval for the agreement under the Gas Acts.
