Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment whether the Government will seek an initial 20 per cent reduction in the emission levels of greenhouse gases from developed nations by the year 2005 in view of a recent proposal for such a reduction from the alliance of small nation states and a report of the intergovernmental panel on climate change which stated that global warming is currently occurring.
