273 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the amount paid under the REP scheme in respect of the four months ending April 1995; the comparative amount paid in this period in 1996; and the number of approvals issued during these periods. [10047/96]
An amount of £5,473,536 was paid under the REP scheme in the period 1 January to 30 April 1995, and £16,119,258 was paid in the same period in 1996.
The number of approvals issued in those periods were 1,638 and 3,772 respectively.

The information requested by the Deputy in respect of funding under the REP scheme for 1995 and to date in 1996 is as indicated on the following tables.
It is not possible to anticipate figures for the remaining months of 1996.
