Vol. 466 No. 3

Written Answers. - Youghal (Cork) Water Scheme.

Ned O'Keeffe

Ceist:

69 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider making the necessary funding available to a town (details supplied) in County Cork for a water supply scheme under the pilot tax relief scheme for certain resort areas and water services investment programme. [11324/96]

The schemes to be funded under the resorts initiative in 1996 have now been finalised. The application from Youghal UDC was unsuccessful but can be considered again when next year's programme is being decided.

It was not possible to include the Youghal proposals in the current year's water services investment programme, due to the high level of existing commitments and the number of high priority schemes for which funding must be provided. However, I will review Youghal's position further when determining the programme for next year.
