Vol. 466 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ned O'Keeffe

Ceist:

88 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Cork under the scheme of investment aid for the upgrading of on-farm dairying facilities. [11304/96]

The applicant applied for assistance under the scheme of investment aid for upgrading of on-farm dairying facilities on 10 January 1995. An officer from the local office visited him on 16 February 1995 and drew up an agreed schedule of work which could be aided under the scheme. By letter of 27 February, 1995 the applicant was approved for aid with a specified expiry date of 31 March 1996 for completion of the work. Since then the applicant has not advised the Department that he commenced the approved works.

By letter of 13 November, 1995 the applicant was reminded of the expiry date and requested to indicate if the work was completed. No reply was received and by letter of 18 April 1996 he was advised that the approval had lapsed and that no grant-aid would be forthcoming.
