262 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of pieces of legislation operated by and policed by his Department which were on the Statute Book prior to 1921; and the titles of such legislation. [11392/96]

The number of Acts operated by, relevant to and-or policed by my Department which were on the Statute Book prior to 1921 is 42.

I regret to inform the Deputy that it is not possible, in the time available, to provide all the information sought by him. I am advised that to compile the information required, so far as it relates to legislation other than Acts, e.g. Statutory Instruments, Regulations etc., would be a mammoth task which would absorb a disproportionate amount of available resources.
If the Deputy wishes to put down a more specific question, I will endeavour to ensure that all the information he requires is made available.
