Limerick East): The processing of medical card applications is a matter for each health board. I understand that receipts are not issued by health boards as it is considered by the boards that this would delay the application process and impose increased administrative costs. The possibility of arranging for the routine issue of receipts will be discussed with the chief executive officers of health boards at their next scheduled meeting with officers of the Department.
