Vol. 467 No. 1

Written Answers. - Review Group Report.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

124 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health when the report of the review group which was established to examine health and social services for people with physical and sensory disabilities in 1992 will be published; and whether he intends to publish a White Paper following the publication of this report. [12463/96]

Limerick East): The report of the review group is being amended following a consultative seminar earlier this year with service providers and users. It will be circulated to the members of the review group for agreement at its next meeting which is scheduled for later in July. Following agreement, it is expected that the review group will finalise its report. I hope to publish the report as soon as it is presented to me.

In view of the review group's report and the report of the Commission on the Status of People with Disabilities, which is also expected in the near future, there does not appear to be a need for a White Paper on services for people with disabilities.
