140 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Health the number of extra employees within the Department of Health and each of the health boards under the student work scheme; whether temporary workers in the health services are losing employment because of this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Limerick East): There is at present one student on a six-month work experience programme within the Department of Health. As there are no temporary workers employed within the Department, no employment is being lost as a result of the scheme.
Data for the eight regional health boards is not readily available within the Department. The information is presently being sought from the boards and I will forward it directly to the Deputy as soon as it becomes available.
