Vol. 467 No. 1

Written Answers. - Personal Assistance Services.

Pat Gallagher

Ceist:

148 Mr. P. Gallagher (Laoighis-Offaly) asked the Minister for Health whether he has received the report and recommendations of the Midland Health Board's ad-hoc group on personal assistance services for people with physical disabilities; if so, the action, if any, he proposes to take in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12706/96]

Limerick East): The report referred to by the Deputy is one of a number of responses received by my Department following circulation of the report of the advisory group on personal assistance services for people with physical disabilities to interested parties for comments. As I have previously stated in this House, decisions will be taken about the future provision of personal assistants as part of a review of the full range of services required by people with physical disabilities following publication of the report of the review group on services for people with physical and sensory disabilities which is due shortly.
