Vol. 467 No. 1

Written Answers. - Border Counties Projects.

Rory O'Hanlon

Ceist:

77 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Education the amount of money allocated to date under the European funding for peace and reconciliation in the Border counties; the projects that have benefited from this funding; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11911/96]

Management and administration of a range of measures under the special Support Programme for Peace and Reconciliation, including the measures relevant to the education sectory — has been allocated to Area Development Management Limited and the Combat Poverty Agency and other designated bodies as set out in the programme. These agencies will jointly administer the measures, primarily through a joint management committee. The allocation to the education sector will depend on the extent to which project promoters apply and are successful in securing funding for education related projects.

It is a matter for individual organisations to submit their applications for funding for specific projects or range of projects to the management structure designated for the relevant measures within the various sub-programmes.
