130 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education if a decision has been made in respect of a request for free school transport for primary school children in Cherry Orchard, Dublin 10 pending the building of a school in that area. [13065/96]
It is proposed to build a junior school at Cherry Orchard. At present, pupils living in Cherry Orchard are within two miles of their nearest school and, therefore, are not eligible for free transport under the terms of the school transport scheme. Accordingly, it is not open to my Department to grant free transport to these pupils.
