Under the current round of Structural Funds technical assistance has been used by my Department to support the activities of the regional authorities in carrying out their functions in respect of the Community Support Framework, Community Initiatives and the Cohesion Fund, to support the monitoring, assessment and evaluation of the Community Support Framework and to implement Community and other provisions which are agreed on information and publicity.

Ceist:65 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Finance the allocations of the current round of the Structural Funds that have been transferred or reallocated as a result of underspending, late starts or similar reasons; and if he will give details of the allocation of additional Structural Funds as a result of applications of the deflator. There have been no transfers or reallocations of Structural Funds between operational programmes under the current round of Structural Funds. The application of the 1995 deflator gave rise to additional funding over the 1995-99 period for the CSF of 77.584 million ECU. The provisional additional amount arising from the application of the 1996 deflator to the CSF over the 1996-99 period is 37.913 million ECU.
