Written Answers. - Regional Airport Funding.

Ceist:

318 Mr. Morley asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the amount of EU funding that has been granted to each of the regional airports, including Knock International Airport, for each of the years from 1989 to 1993; the purpose for which funding was granted in each case; and the passenger numbers travelling through each of the airports for each of these years. EU Funding to the regional airports under the Operational Programme on Peripherality 1989-93 of the European Regional Development Fund was not allocated on an annual basis. The total amounts granted to each of the airports in respect to infrastructural improvements under this Programme were as follows:

As the regional airports are owned and operated by private undertakings, the breakdown of traffic data is commercially sensitive and confidential to the companies concerned.
